Art is dangerous work. In the past six months I have had two snakes in my studio. Not beautiful – especially as there are canvases and “stuff” lying around all over the room. One can only wonder how many more there are just waiting to pounce on poor unsuspecting me? The snakes are black with grey underneath – I am hoping they are Red-lipped Heralds (as I have been informed by my neighbour’s husband) and not some other more sinister snake. The problem is that my studio is half under my house. Sort of a basement room thing. Small with a low ceiling (and half underground) – seriously – with a beautiful luscious tropical garden around which just welcomes all sorts of animals to come play – clearly they don’t know the rules and haven’t waited for an invitation…
