We all need to step out of our comfort zone and experience some unease and angst... We also need to plan, plot and prepare... Artists more than most... Hence I submitted two paintings to the Tollman Bouchard Finlayson Art Competition... Painting on a round canvas was a challenge I had never done. Subject matter was easy but composition needed to be considered... It was more fun than daunting... Here are my submissions and the source material from which my paintings originated...

So Alex and Nick got pissed the night before a huge travelling day - taxis, undergrounds, border controls, mini buses, airplanes and buses - travelling for 13 hours! In China! With a language barrier! I was cross... Effing cross. This was their "in your face" hangover pic...

This is Marianne at the KZNSA at an Exhibition opening... It reminded me of the painting "Whistler's mother". Don't ask me why. Fortunately, being a girl, I don't need to have a reason :)
